The Las Vegas Writes project, sponsored by the Vegas Valley Book Festival, provides a unique opportunity for the city’s growing community of writers to exhibit their diverse array of styles and perspectives. Each year an elite group of authors are selected to participate in the project, writing short stories around a chosen theme, which culminates in a book that is revealed at the Festival.

In its fourth year, Las Vegas Writes is thrilled to announce its newest tome – Wish You Were Here – with stories generated from iconic postcards.

The 2011 Las Vegas Writes project, Fade-Sag-Crumble
is a collection of ten essays about the neon city from local
journalists, novelists, critics, and scholars.

The Perpetual Engine of Hope, Las Vegas Writes’ 2010 project, offers short stories inspired by vintage Vegas photographs.

Restless City, the 2009 signature project of the Vegas Valley Book Festival – Las Vegas Writescollaboration, is a serial novel of stories from local writers whose minds meander up and down the streets of the city.
